An Old-timer's Christmas

So, now that the election is over, [eyes looking skyward as I say a silent prayer of gratitude that I don’t have to endure any more political commercials], I can focus my attention on more important things… like what I want for Christmas!

And as I’ve been making my list (and checking it twice), I’ve realized something horribly sad and pathetic:

I’m an old lady!

Gone are the days where I wanted highly frivolous and fun things (like a Barbie mini-van or Mr. T jewelry kit).

Now I want, well… need, extremely practical and boring things (which fully place me in the “old lady” category).

Don’t believe me?

Here are my top three Christmas “wishes”:

1. A shredder.

2. Sheets.

3. Grocery Bag Holder. (Seriously.)

If I added undies, socks, and some kind of ointment, I’d be able to apply for my senior citizens discount!

(Although, with my birthday right around the corner, you never know!)

So, please, if you have any fun Christmas present ideas, leave me a comment. I’m too young to be so utilitarian…

I vote for:
1) a new purse
2) Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer (does this make me an old lady? not ointment, but hmm...)
3) slippers
Okay, wait a minute. Besides the purse, I'm an old lady too? Moisturizer and slippers, come on!!
Sorry, I'm not much help. I still vote for the new purse :)

Oooohh...new purse is a good idea!! That's utilitarian AND fun!! Unless you're not the type of girl that gets in to purses. I'm not super crazy about them, but I think it's fun to change it up once in a while. I'm also not one of those girls that needs to spend hundreds of dollars on a purse...I'm perfectly happy with the selection at Target. Every once in a while, I'll splurge and get an $80 version at Macy's!!

I use to be mystified why my mom always asked for things like dish towels and frying pans for Christmas. Until I started wanting them for Christams too.

My suggestion is sparkley earrings. A girl can never have too many pair.

I can't believe you want a grocery bag holder. Honestly, I don't know anyone else who can hold more grocery bags on their arm, while climbing a flight of stairs and then stumbles in the door and say, "I'm alright." It still makes me laugh.

You need to invent a grocery bag holder and then sell it.

Rachel - new dish towels is on my list this year too! We seriously need to form the 80 year old ladies club!

art supplies are always good and they always inspire me to do a new piece of art work.
