An Office With a View...

So, this week has been dreary, dismal, and depressing.

My trainee is nice, and I think she'll do well (although she's a chatter). But, my new office environment has been a challenge to say the least.

I've loved everyone's suggestions on how I could revamp my cubie and give it some pizazz, so I thought I'd give you another picture so you could put your creative hat on and come up with some ways I could improve my view.

Now, it's hard to tell from this picture, but I have the awesome view of 5, yes 5, different styles of air conditioning units. Aren't I a lucky gal? (Although, I can see little leafy tree tops if I lean over my desk and crain my neck sharply to the right)

I've thought about bringing some of my acrylic paints to work and painting my own little garden over the window, but I don't know how "management" would like that.

Maybe I could just cut foliage out of a magazine and tape it up there?

A decorative mini curtain that's connected to my gray fabric cubicle wall?

Any suggestion would be welcome...

Buy a big set of dry erase markers and change up the scenery every day. If you need a vacation...draw the ocean and palm trees. If you are in a festive mood, you can draw pictures for "National Dental Floss Day" or whatever the current holiday is. Or get a big ficus to cover the view...you'll still get the sunlight but won't have to deal with the A/C units.

I like the dry erase marker idea! Or cutting out pictures of foliage could be fun too! Or, stand up, march yourself into The Boss' office and DEMAND, yes, I said DEMAND an office! Yeah, the paper foliage might be the best idea.

Okay, sure, foliage is nice, but how about a nice picture of Gerard Butler. I think he's much better looking than leaves.

Oh how about curtains.

Yummy Gerard!!! Why don't I have a picture of him at work?
Here are my suggestions:
1) Can you actually open your window? Wouldn't it be lovely to have a little garden out there? Any roof access? I always love those movies when someone lives in the city and has a rooftop garden!

2)I have seen little window stick on things that make the window look like stained glass. I think that would be so charming!! :)
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Liz, you have a wonderful opportunity here to climb out of your window and place cut-outs of guys working on the air-conditioning units, bent over sporting the plumber's crack! It sounds like one Gerard Butler would do (I have no idea who that is, but I'm sure he'd make a nice handyman). Or you could place some astroturf down on the roof and create a little golf course out there for you. Then when you need a little break or need to alleviate some stress, you can climb out of that window and play a few rounds. Either way, you are going to be super-popular with your co-workers!

Ok maybe my perspective on it isn't quite right, and I'm squinting, but it looks to me like it's just begging to have a little faux Olvera Street set up on it. Get a churro stand and hang pinatas
