Friday Fluff

Dear People of the World,

What is wrong with you? Put the phones down.

Seriously.

Best Regards,

Liz

Oh, and there’s only two more weeks until my surprise Friday the 13th event!

Are you excited?

Good!

Now, I’m not going to tell you what it is until next Friday, but I’ll give you another hint*…

So, put this clue with the one I gave you last week, and see if you can figure it out!

(*It has nothing to do with Rhoda, or Valerie Harper, but it DOES have something to do with what she’s wearing (and the time period). And no, you don’t have to wear a head scarf to the party, but you would get extra cool points if you did!)

Thank goodness I don't have to wear a headscarf, cause you know how I feel about head wear! Can't wait for the 13th!!!!

O yeah! I figured it out! This is such an awesome event you have planned here Liz. . . So, the event is on Friday the 13th and your two clues are a dead flower/plant and a gypsy lady. . . and you have mentioned your book club as a posting. . . you totally have acquired an ancient book from the dark world with spells and enchantments and you are going to unleash the power among your close friends, wherein like Faustus, you will be able to conjure up your own little devils to do your bidding, such as little pranks, but unlike Faustus you will use this power for good. For example, the gypsy lady was having a bad-hair-day and, presto! you conjured up a bandana so that she could cover up the shame of it! Or, example number 2: just as you conjured up a spell to take a beautiful flower and have it wither up and die (the first clue you gave), you will go about society, traking down pedophiles and rapists and cast a spell upon them which will make their (hm, hmmm) wither and die, if you know what I mean. . . :) Brilliant!
(p.s. sorry if that second example seems offensive, but one must admit that that would be a great spell for such offenders).
Or maybe you will go a little lighter with the crowd and simply use the spells to wither the stinky bushes in Las Brisas and plant new one's with a better scent in their stead. . . or. . . just keep you imagination running folks, if you show up, you are going to have a lot of different things that you may pull out of that book (I simply ask that you don't use me for practice, whatever you choose to do).

I am totally intrigued! Ps, I totally agree with you about the padded poles. I think if you can't look where you're going, you desrve to hit a pole or two--maybe then you could get a clue.

Brett, your guess totally cracked me up!
And if I had magical powers from an ancient book, you can bet I would get rid of the stinky bushes.

So, if you wake up one morning and see that they're gone, you'll know who to thank!

a dead sunflower and an original do-rag. Are we having a dead pirate horticultue event? Should I bring rum rolls?

I totally have the PERFECT head scarf. I can't wait! And I love the element of surprise here. The wonderful thing is that I know that no matter what we do we'll have a sensational time, but the fact that I have no idea what it is but it in some way involves head scarves makes me even more excited.

And Andrea, if you need to borrow one, just let me know.

I'm so sad that I will be missing this wonderful event. Please post lots of pictures. I really should send Not-so-flat Amanda back to CA to enjoy all festivities. I'll think about it.
Also, I love the manliness page. There is an article on how to pick out a good hat. Fantastic. The comments after the article are good too.

I also loved the manliness site. I wonder if there is a site like that for ladies--I know a lot of people who could really benefit from that too.
I am totally dumbfounded by the surprise--I have no clue what it is, but it sounds like fun! I wonder what the next clue will be...
